Google Engineer Builds the Ultimate Gaming LAN-Party Pad - nguyencreformen

GeekTech has seen its share of geeky and limited homes before, but I in person think Kenton Varda's net LAN-party pad is the best yet. Let's just read off the his checklist: 12 gaming computing device Stations, one 55-inch and one 59-in HDTV, and a survival of the fittest of gaming consoles connected to each High-definition television. Hells yea!

Unlike the LAN parties of yore (ahead broadband-internet and online multiplayer was widespread), this house keeps all the computers and wires hidden. In fact, it just looks like a regular well designed and spacious dwelling house.

The 12 computing machine Stations of the Cross are fitted at bottom bend-out enclosures and split into cardinal rooms with six stations each for team play (no cheating). The enclosures only hold the monitor, keyboard, and mouse, piece the real PC units are set functioning along a rack a back room. Their specs are Eastern Samoa follows:

Entirely the computers are networked together–thus the topical anaestheti region net–and connect to a server that shares a captain embarrassing drive. Instead of updating each of the 12-machines individually, Kenton, a software direct at Google, just has to update the software on the master disc drive, and the individual PCs "shipment software directly from the master visualise over the network," according to Kenton.

In addition to the gaming PCs, Kenton has two oversize flat-silver screen HDTVs set aweigh with a selection of gaming consoles, but helium admits they mostly used to watch pro Starcraft matches.

Kenton makes a note that he is not rich or soaked; he is hardly a slave who was fortunate enough to work for Google and was competent to lay aside money. Varda also has a couple of more home hacking ideas in mind, including wiring his complete house with speakers and porting Stepmania to his Google TV so he potty DDR whenever he wants.
